2. Fix any underlying grade issues
3. Fertilizer application to the soil
4. Rake the ground until it is smooth and firm
5. Plant the new sod
6. Water the new lawn

You may want to begin fertilizer application on the grass at this point. It is important that we do not fertilize your new lawn when we lay it, and that you don’t lay down fertilizer for at least six weeks afterwards. This grass is too new to be treated with such chemicals and won’t take properly. After six weeks, you can begin to care for your yard normally, or even bring us back for regular lawn maintenance like grass mowing and weed pulling.
